Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Please don't let the idiots keep you from bringing life with a Tabby and Coyote to us. I love it!

Thank you for sharing your lives with us all, the joy you bring me with your efforts is unending.
Lots of love to you, Charlie and Eli for the holidays. I wish you the very best for 2008.

hehehehe, he looks like such a trouble maker!! Too sweet...

People, relax and enjoy the story being told. Clearly, this woman loves this animal and understands him. She has stated from the begining that she had no intention of keeping Charlie if he needed to be set free. Seems to me like Charlie is more her housemate than pet. She seems to have a very healthy respect for the fact that he is a wild animal. Personally though, I hope he never leaves her.

I don't believe this blog is a spelling contest, so leave it alone. The story and the pitures are more important than a spell checker......

All of you Have a wonderful Holiday!

Charlie is so beautiful and Eli looks so much like my late ginger tabby Remy.

It's a really wonderful thing you are doing.

He looks very proud of himself and on a mission. He is absolutly adorable even doing some thievery. Hope that you have a very Merry Christmas and the New Year brings you new adventures and happiness.

I don't know if I would have the nerve to do what you've done by embracing the wilderness, but I envy you. Have a terrific Christmas.

Coyote the Trickster God -- that's Charlie.
"The trickster deity breaks the rules of the gods or nature, with ultimately positive effects."

Take a look at this if you're not familiar with the Trickster God:

Peace and joy to you, St. Eli, and Charlie Coyote.

thief!? mon dieu, I think not.
Charlie comes bearing a gift.

sure, it's regifted, but it's the thought that counts.

the only appropriate response to such an act is a vigorous snorggling
to the ears & shnozzle.

merry Gristlemas, 1 & all!!

My first thought: what did he want with it? If this was a wintertime pic, I would think that he was cold. But it was taken in summer... so what did he want with it?

Best guess: he wanted something that smelled like his Mama!

Your are truly blessed. Charlie is lucky. I really hate my city life, but silly things prevent me from following my dream. Best wishes to you and Merry Christmas Charlie.

Coyotes are fascinating critters. Two great books about coyotes are God's Dog by Hope Ryden, and The Voice of the Coyote by J. Frank Dobie...a decades-old book that might still be available at the U. of Nebraska Press where I got my copy

I love his expression..."where am I gonna hide this now that I have it?"

Just wanted to say that I read your blog every day and I am in the process of establishing one myself (unfortunately not about coyotes or "living deliberately" as Thoreau might have commented), I will link to you (to add to the friends I email awww charlie links to!) and share of your wonderful life with eli and charlie that i live vicariously!

I love absolutely everything about this picture. It says all that anyone needs to know about Charlie, his well-being and his excellent care.

It is also cute beyond words. I just love a thievin', grinnin', rescued coyote, don't you?

Merry Christmas and a joyful New Year, Shreve-Sweetie, Eli-dear and Charlie-darling.

Merry Christmas to you and your crew!

I posted about a great book many threads back called "Giving Birth to Thunder, Sleeping with his Daughter" by Barry Lopez. It's a wonderful, short book on the role of the Coyote in forming mankind.

That tastes GOOD!

He looks just like Wily Coyote in that photo (though I'm pretty sure Charlie could outsmart the Roadrunner).

The cuteness is never ending.

I love your pictures! Sometimes when I'm feeling a little blue they can really cheer me up.

I'm scared he will end up breaking your heart, but I admire you so much for rescuing him and taking care of him. I hope you can just ignore all the jerks who tell you you were wrong.

Eli's a sweetie too.

I think Charlie's feeling sheepish because he was caught wool-gathering.

I found The Daily Coyote about two weeks ago. Watching Charlie grow up is now my main online pastime.

I had a dog that would steal socks from the laundry. not dirty laundry, but clean, warm, fuzzy laundry. he would then bury them in the backyard. we called them his wubbies.

jenithea said...

My cats love sleeping on anything I was wearing (sweaters, pajamas, etc)... and don't even get me started on the supernatural attractiveness of clean laundry. It looks like Charlie has some similar tastes!

Charlie reminds me a tiny bit of my angular, pointy, big-eared Balinese cat, who is a real character. (On the other hand, just about anything good reminds me of my cat ;-)

Thanks again for the Daily Coyote! It is the only blog I follow.
