Does he blow out twice a year as a German Shepherd would, in reference to shedding? Just curious, thanks Shreve!

These baby pictures make him look like something you'd buy in the stuffed animal section in Toys-R-Us. Too freakin' cute!

Shreve, I love your blog. I loved hearing the occasional coyote howling in Northern Michigan where I grew up, and it's great to follow Charlie's progress as he grows up, too. I was wondering though if you got rabies shots for him, since he might someday be going off into the wild on his own.

Must. Cuddle. Immediately.

Shreve,
You've written that Charlie "was delivered to my doorstep" when his parents were shot. Would you tell us more about this? Did a stranger find him and leave him at your door? Did he find his way there himself? Thanks!

BTW, your life sounds awesome.

My Mom's Golden does this thing in the snow that we call 'snow mouse'....she hunches her back and pounces, as if she hears something under the snow. Just like they show Coyotes doing on the nature shows.....does Charlie do this? My Chihuahua does it too, though only when she's in the mood (she kind hates the snow).

I would love to see him do that....maybe a video? *wink wink, nudge nudge*

I wonder if there is any chance that you might post just one current picture for those of us who are unable to subscribe at this time? I would especially love to see what he was like the first time he came in contact with the snow.
What month is the site currently on right now?

I enjoyed this so much today! I had a lot to do, but had to keep the page up to read whenever I could. I think you are wonderful for doing this and I'm glad you all are happy!

I rescue Opossums and I think they are incredible - it kills me that people don't understand them and hate them because they look like rats. I feel I have very similar stories to you and Charlie, only mine are 'possums, not Coyotes! However, when I find a place to move to - more animal tolerant, along with having a skunk, a Coyote might be pretty awesome! Although I did have a half Coyote half German Shepherd once, her name was Scarecrow, she was a wreck when I found her. She was a great dog.

Thanks for the fun read!

I wonder if in real time Charlie has matured and left to find a mate. I know coyotes live in loose-knit packs and being a male he may soon hear "the call of the wild."

I've just watched your videos on you tube. The one of charlie kissing the cows is lovely, and it must be quite recent as it was snowing. He looked so tender... and he's getting so big

When I first heard that you had a pet coyote I was so syked! I no it can be hard to raise a wild animal hense the "wild", but I also know it can be done and he seems to be behaving like a dog. I heard people are giving you a hard time about raising a wild coyote as a pet. If this is true I want to stand up for you. If you had left him there he would have died. You saved his life! It would be one thing if he was unhappy, but he seems extatick. He has a mommy, brother, roof over his head and plenty of food. He still gets to run around in the grass and stalk dear. There are plenty way worse things people are doing to amimals. The people bothering you (if what I heard was true) should be worrying about that and get off your back. People are illegally poching and killing inocent animals for just one part of their body. People are selling macows and monkeys in cages at markets. People are destroying habitats! All I see hear is a happy coyote and a nice lady who is sharing her wonderful story with us. Thank you.

Shreve, me and my kids and grandkids too all appreciate your blog. It is very enjoyable to read and watch him grow. You have commented on your camera, but I don't recall reading about the photo editing software you use. Please provide all of us amateurs, on one of your blogs, with some hints and tips for our own photos.

This photo and the one of Charlie in the snow- AMAZING!

Do you use Photoshop or any other program to add special touches to your pictures? Or do you know/use old methods with film and such?
